PROGRAM
I. BACKGROUND
Facing the challenges of
the 21st centrury will require multiskilled human resources, for
responding to the global competition.
Based on the Ministry of National Education policy, all higher
education graduates should be able to provide for an adjust their
education to the needs of the workplace, especially in the world of
business.

In the future, companies
will selectively choose professional candidates who can compete in
the globalization era. Therefore, one of the challenges for
graduates of higher learning institutions is to prepare themselves
as well as possible before entering the workplace.

One of the effort to
improve the quality of human resources, especially in higher
education, is through the CO-OP program, which is an important means
of enabling self-development, entrepreneurship and self-reliance
among graduates.
II. WHAT IS THE COOPERATIVE EDUCATION
PROGRAM?
CO-OP is work-integrated
learning, where the student chooses direct work experience that
provides incentives. The CO-OP program enables graduates to obtain
professional expertise and the ability to apply skill outside the
campus. It is hoped that CO-OP entails 3-6 months employment and can
be extended, but not to exceed 12 months.
III. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

To accelerate the
adjustment of higher learning graduates for entry to the workplace.

To improve the quality of
human resources, particularly for being independent and
professional.

To facilitate companies in
recruiting the suitable human resources.
IV. REQUIREMENTS
-
Candidates should be able
to socialize themselves within an organization or the workplace.

The program can be followed
by university students from all study programs, by means of a
selection process.

Candidates should have
permission from the Rector of the higher learning institution and
from their parents.

Candidates must obey
current regulations both in the company and the higher learning
institution.
V. BENEFITS
A. The Company:

(4). Provides students with basic skill and the ability to adapt to
changes or needs in the workplace through training.
(5). Improvement of practical work programs for graduates in the
company.
C. The Student:
(1). Obtains work experience in a company.
(2). Applies academic knowledge in the workplace.
(3). Obtains greater chances for employment.
(4). Obtains incentives from the company in accordance with his/her
abilities.
(5). Is provided with opportunities for promotion and career
advancement.
(6). Obtains experience of team-work within the organization.
